Why vote for Bush in 2004?
Why vote for Bush in 2004?
This is a shorter submission of what will be posted on this site later this month. Thanks to Hugh Hewitt for pointing out that this is important to do early and often. I am a 2000 Nader voter because I didn?t trust Bush after the DUI story broke and because I didn?t think Bush understood the seriousness of freedom in the world (see his 2000 comments on Africa). Here is why I am voting for Bush, as a serious Christian:
Why vote for Bush?
This is a shorter submission of what will be posted on this site later this month. Thanks to Hugh Hewitt for pointing out that this is important to do early and often. I am a 2000 Nader voter because I didn?t trust Bush after the DUI story broke and because I didn?t think Bush understood the seriousness of freedom in the world (see his 2000 comments on Africa). Here is why I am voting for Bush, as a serious Christian:
1) The Bush tax cuts were equitable (went to everyone), removed thousands of poor of the tax rolls, gave money back to those capable of creating jobs, but resulted in a MORE progressive tax system, with the richest 20% now paying 80% of the taxes in the nation ? more then previous.
2) He has genuinely sought to bring freedom to more of the world?s poor and subjected people. Christopher Hitchen?s is right, anyone who has freed 50 million people should be viewed as a human right?s activist.
3) He is for protecting existing and soon Social Security beneficiaries while facing realistically the fact that we are lying to younger Americans that their SS taxes are going to pay for their future benefits.
4) By proposing judges who will not legislate from the bench, it puts the power and responsibility in the hands of the people to either move the country forward or ruin it ? not just a few people.
Again, more to come later this month.
