We Must Investigate the People Behind these Exploding Prices

In the pas few weeks Hillary Clinton has vowed to take the profits from the oil companies. With gas prices rising back towards $3, I hear lots of people saying we need to find out why these prices are so high.

Am I agreeing her in my post?  No, there is a much bigger issue which demands attention.  We should investiage this industry that has seen prices goes up 35% in the past fives year! (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15401280/)

No, I am not talking about the oil industry.  Or the energy industry.  I am talking about the price of education.  Private universities are now pretty much over $20,000 per year, public ones trying to catch up.  And yet, there is no investigation.  I mean, its education...not much has changed (except the quality, which based on recent graduations seems to be diving like a blue whale).

Yet, I don’t hear any screams from Senator Clinton or any of the other Senators or Congressional members screaming for an investigation.  Why?  You know why, because the educational establishments are in tight with the political class - both parties but especially the Democrats.  You know, if they want to waste our taxpayer dollars investigating something, pull up some of these university and college presidents and let them try adn justify the huge increases in costs.  I mean, oil prices are set by a public market (I think they are at least 30% overpriced due to speculation, which will one day pop).

Madam Senator Clinton, please investigate the price of college.  I want to see those Presidents frog-marched up there to sit before your panels.  Lets see this non-market based price system investigated!  If you are really concerend about the average American, than leave the oil industry alone (after all, the government makes 17% off the price of oil products via taxes, the industry 10% - http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=MzIyZWMyNDcxYWIxNTUyMTU0ZTQ1ZmI4MWE5NWFmMjk=

Many economists see the increase in federal grant money as the cause behind this (as inflation is usually occurs when you have too much dollars chasing scarce or limited resources).  I don’t know, but as a parent of three small kids, i will spend far more on teh cost of college for them than I will probably in over-inflated gasoline prices.
