Nominee for Most Idiotic Statement - Brooke Anderson compares Baby Pitt to Jesus
Look, I understand that living in a postmodern world means the end of an understanding of history. But this is incredible: http://newsbusters.org/node/5730
First off, I understand that Brooke Anderson is an entertainment reporter, which is like saying that she is in charge of weighing air. But how do you sleep at night knowing your job is to say things like “Some biblical references define Shiloh as, quote, ‘generally understood as denoting the Messiah.’ And perhaps not since Jesus has a baby’s arrival been so eagerly anticipated, at least in some circles.”
Now first off, Shiloh means “place of peace,” but as anyone who has read the Old Testament knows, Shiloh became a place of idolatry, leading the prophet Jeremiah to say “Go now to the place in Shiloh where I first made a dwelling for my Name, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.” (Jeremiah 7:12)
But come on, did most people even know Brad and Anjelina were pregnant? Did it matter to us in the course of living out our lives, our hopes and desires. This statement isn’t just ludicrous, it is dangerous because it makes the trivial important, while meanwhile important and essential things get kicked to the back pages of the newspaper and the end of the newscast.
